The Menin Gate Memorial is a war memorial in Ieper, Belgium dedicated to the commemoration of British and Commonwealth soldiers who were killed in the area during WWI and whose graves are unknown. Designed by Sir Reginald Blomfield and built by the British government, the Menin Gate Memorial was unveiled on 24 July 1927. Every evening at 20:00 since 1928, buglers from the local fire brigade close the road which passes under the Memorial and sound the Last Post.
