Like medieval towns suspended in time, these small villages perched atop a hill can be found throughout Italy. They’ve managed to survive invasions, earthquakes, the advent of the car and years of wear and tear from people tramping and living all over these landmarks. This small town, or commune as the Italians call them, is located in the Abruzzo province which is known for its beautiful mountains and expansive beaches along Italy’s eastern Adriatic coast.
