i pass this metal panel everyday, and i’ve long admired its texture.
"SUBWAY -" it seems to shout.. "KEEP CLEAR"
as if an R train is, at any moment, going to burst from the sidewalk, twist and sway mightily in the air like a giant anaconda in its death throes, and then collapse in a fiery pile of wires and wheels and windows, crushing everyone on 9th Street.
plus i really like the lines in this shot. i have no idea how such an awesome panel could be (or look) so misaligned.. if it were a perspective issue i don’t think the lines of the sidewalk would be so close to perpendicular.
