Imagine the boards on the doors removed. Imagine movie posters in the blocks of red. Imagine a charming old-time ticket booth in the center black boarded up area. Imagine removing ugly marquee added in the 40’s. Imagine a period correct ceramic and neon sign hanging high up on the brick wall with simply the name of the theater. Can you imagine all that? Then you have a very vivid imagination.
I would like to offer up a big "F— You" to the owner of this former Milwaukee jewel that has been left to rot and refused to sell it to several different legitimate business people. Every once in awhile there are rumors that someone will bring it back and then everything fizzles out. I want to win the lottery and restore it to its’ original glory. This "small theater" (many of you are too young to remember movie theaters that held 1500 being called small…..and that is just one screen…..one massive screen) takes up a large part of a block and leaving it to rot is not good for the neighborhood. Oooooooh, it makes me so angry.
