Oxford Ascending Curves

This is the Herzog & de Meuron designed Univeristy of Oxford Blavatnik School of Government on its open morning on Saturday. The building was one of the shortlisted entries for the RIBA Stirling Architectural Prize in 2016. The building was completed late in 2015 and officially opened in May 2016. The building was open to the Public on 28th January 2017 and has a definite resemblance to City Hall, London. The design though is different in that there is no continuous ramp. There is an open stair and a small spiral from the ground floor to the second. The remaining floors are served by a separate narrow spiral (pictures to come) The size of the atrium decreases in size with each floor. The previous Open Day was the last Saturday in January 2016 so hopefully it will be a yearly event.<br />

The picture was taken handheld with a Sony A700 with a Samyang 8mm Fisheye lens. 3 raw images 2EV spacing processed with Photomatix Contrast Optimiser setting for a natural look. The minus 2 EV image was increased in RAW to minus 4EV for a new image. This was then pasted in as a new layer with a layer mask and applied only to reduce highlights. Noise from the 500 ISO setting was reduced with Topaz DeNoise. Then I used Topaz Clarity
