We had just been into St Oswald’s Church in the small village of Grasmere in the Lake District and then viewed the graves of William Wordsworth and his wife in the graveyard. It’s a typical English pastoral scene in the environs of the church, including this view which I took from a little walk after visiting the church. It shows the River Rothay making a slow meander towards the lake of Grasmere. I was particularly taken with the lone bench waiting for someone to sit on to admire the view of the hills in front of it and of course the reflections in the river.
