The ship was used during the Argentinian Invasion of the Falklands/Malvinas Islands (Operation Rosario).
On 1 of May 1982, a Tracker aircraft located the British Aircraft Carrier Invincible and the ship prepared to launch a group of A-4 Skyhawks to attack it. However, the lack of enough wing made this operation impossible.
The British Nuclear Submarine HMS Splendid received orders to follow the carrier.
Shortly after, a British Harrier VTOL Fighter located the carrier and the ship was forced to retreat. After the loss of the Cruiser Belgrano, the ship stayed the rest of the war at it´s home base.
After the war, the Skyhawks were replaced by Super Etendards but then the ships engines started to show their age and without money for repairs, it was removed from service.
It was then towed to India for scrapping.
